So I've been a little hush hush about my plans to do the Coldwater Mini-triathlon. I have been extremely nervous over the last couple of weeks since I made my final decision to just shut up and do it after Uncle Hank emailed me a couple of weeks ago asking me if I was ready. At that point I was on a bit of a downswing with my training schedule and I had completely talked myself out of doing this mini-tri even after I had promised Steve that I would do with him. I was convinced that I would come in dead last and I would embarrass myself. Well today I actually did not die and I did finish. Not last I might add. I got my ass off the couch and did something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. So there! And I had fun doing it.
The race consisted of a 300 meter swim (which I wished was longer); a 6 mile bike ride; and a 3.1 mile run. I don't know when times will be posted but I pretty sure my time was over an hour but under two :-) with an overall finish of 126th out of 150 people. Steve was a rock star and came in at around 45 minutes finishing first in his age class (25-29) and 8th overall. Go Steve!
Many kudos and love to the superfans: Doug, Eddie, Claire, Amy, Sophia, and Grandma Beth. It was so great to have a cheering section. Roboranch.com has posted some awesome pictures (thanks Amy!).
You did great Allison! I'm so proud of you for doing this!
Amy took a great shot of you after you exited the water, which we'll be posting soon. There are 2 young buff guys that are a few steps behind you :-) Way to rock the swim leg!

Allison, you rock! I had so much fun cheering you on at your first triathlon. It was really cool to see you and Stephen do this together--I said I wouldn't get choked up, but I totally did. I love you!
